SUMMARY

using QuadriSpace Pages3D! After spending 10 or 15 minutes with this
Quick Look, you will have a good understanding of what you can do
with Pages3D and how it is very different from anything else on the
market today.
Pages3D is a
complete, stand-alone, program that helps you create documents with
embedded 3D content. When viewing a document, the embedded 3D model
can be rotated, panned and zoomed interactively. There are many 3D
tools for creating illustrations, exploded views, section views,
parts lists and more. When you have finished creating a document.
The document can be shared via email, printed or published to
interactive formats for distribution.
This Quick
Start will provide and example document that will let you start your
learning process by viewing a completed document and then sharing
this document through email and 3D PDF publishing.

OPENING A QUADRISPACE DOCUMENT
(QSD)
Pages3D is an authoring
application that opens QuadriSpace Document (QSD) files. QSD
files are created entirely with Pages3D and do not require
another software program.
1. Open QuadriSpace Pages3D - By
default, when you run Pages3D it will display a startup screen:

2. Click "Open Document..."
to open the QSD file, pages3D_quick_look.qsd.
Note: if the startup screen does
not display, you can open a document from the application
menu, located in the top-left.
VIEWING A QUADRISPACE DOCUMENT
When the document is opened, the
main area of Pages3D will display the current page. When Pages3D
starts up, the document will be ready for editing as shown by
the pressed state of the "Edit Page" button.

You can toggle editing on and off
with the "Home" ribbon's "Edit Page" button.

To get a quick feel for the
program, do the following:
1. Use the scroll bar on the right
to change pages
2. From the Viewpoint ribbon
group, you can select rotate, pan or zoom and then manipulate
the 3D view.

3. You can turn off "Edit Page"
and click any of the button on the page to activate an action
that was added to the document with Pages3D.
4. You can position page objects
or modify text boxes when you turn on "Edit Page".
SHARING AN INTERACTIVE DOCUMENT WITH PDF
A QuadriSpace document can be
easily shared by emailing a PDF to someone. This PDF will look
identical to your document and will include embedded views of
your 3D model that the recipient can rotate, pan and zoom
interactively. Adobe Reader 8.0 or high is the only requirement.
Emailing a PDF is easy! Select the
"Publish" ribbon and select "Email PDF" from the email button on
the left.

You may be prompted to save your
document before continuing, just click OK to continue. Also, you
will be asked for PDF settings, use the defaults for now and
press the "Create PDF" button in the bottom right corner.
This will create a PDF and display
a preview of the document if you have Adobe Reader 8.0 or
greater installed. You can download the latest Adobe Reader
here.
Pages3D will also create an email
with your PDF as an attachment so that you can easily share this
interactive 3D PDF document with others.

Your PDF document should look
similar to this:

PRINTING A DOCUMENT
Another valuable thing that you
can do with Pages3D is to print a high quality version of your
document to a printer. This will print the document text, tables
and 3D views.
