Tutorial 8: Search part data to quickly find specific parts

Easily find, select or hide parts by searching part names or part data, such as part number. The QuadriSpace model panel also includes a model tree view and a parts list view.

1. Click on the Model Ribbon, and then click the Model Panel Button. This will bring up a panel that includes an assembly tree, a master parts list and a search tool.
2. The default view is the assembly tree. To use this click the part name to select the part, click the check box to toggle visibility and right click a part for more options.  Notice that te BOM on the page and the view update as parts are selected.
3. Now select Search from the top pull-down. In the box at the bottom type in “bolt”, this will search part names and part meta data and display all parts that include the search text.
4. From the top pull-down, select Master Parts List to display all unique parts in the model. The quantity of parts is displayed in parenthesis next to each part name. You can manipulate parts the same way here as outlined above.

For easily finding, selecting and hiding parts, the Model Panel has three views: assembly tree, parts list, and search.
