Tutorial 13: Embed Interactive
Buttons in a document without JavaScript
Creating interactive buttons in QuadriSpace is simple. Buttons
are easily identified and make it easy to send documents to
recipients that may not be familiar with interactive documents. With
QuadriSpace, there is no need to write JavaScript code to add
buttons.
-
Select the
Insert Ribbon.
-
From the Shapes
Pull-down, select a rectangle and drag this out to the page
below the parts list.
-
Right click this
rectangle and select “Properties…” This will display the
Properties Panel.
-
From the
Properties Panel, select the Interactive Tab.
-
In the Mouse Click
Rollout, select “Submit Parts to Web”. This will automatically
bring up a dialog for this action’s settings. Click OK to just
take the defaults. This action would be used to notify a web page
of the select parts in the 3D scene, so that an interactive parts
catalog could be created easily. Let’s set this up to submit the
parts to: “http://www.quadrispace.com/special/submit.php”
-
Now, click the
Edit Page Button to turn OFF page editing.
-
Click a part in
the parts list and then click the button. This will bring up your
browser with a sample page that indicates the part to be ordered.
This action can be set up to use the part meta-data to send a part
number, price or other information to a web page.

Buttons on document pages are very useful for effective
communication and hyperlinks.
