Tutorial 10: Add parts list tables
to your document with ease
Parts lists are extremely important to companies that need to
assembly products, provide a spare parts catalog and other
application such as user guides. With QuadriSpace Pages3D, it is
very simple to create and edit custom parts lists; and then add
these parts lists to your document page with a simple drag and drop.
-
Close the current
Document.
- Open the
example file “[YOUR INSTALLATION DIRECTORY]/Tutorial
2/tutorial_2_part_10.qsd. This will open the ‘chainsaw’ document
without a parts lists.
- Select the
Insert Ribbon.
- To add the
default parts list to your document page, click on the Part
Table Button (NOT Part Text) and drag box out in the gray area
below the text on the right. When asked “Setup table to be
interactive with 3D view?”, select “YES”. Pages3D will create a
table of the default parts list in the area that you dragged out.
- Use the font
size pull-down from the Font Group to select a font size of
10.
- Now turn OFF
the Edit Page Button.
- You should now
be able to click on the table to highlight the associated part in
the 3D view.
- You can set
the views highlight color to RED by Selecting the 3D View
Ribbon and from the Render Style Group, click on
Highlight Button and choose the red color.

Parts Lists are easy to create on a document page. Clicking a part
in the list will highlight the part in the 3D view.
