Tutorial 1: Modern user interface
with a ribbon look and feel
QuadriSpace
Pages3D 2008 is based on the Microsoft–inspired ribbon user
interface. This user interface makes it easy to accomplish even
complex tasks, provides the power to set up an efficient custom work
area and organizes all tools for accessibility.
- Start
QuadriSpace Pages3D.
- The Quick
Start Dialog should display on startup, click on Open Document.
(If the Quick Start does not display, you can use the
Application Menu to select Open Document).
- Open the
example file “[YOUR INSTALLATION DIRECTORY]/Tutorial
1/tutorial_1_final.qsd.
- Once the
document is loaded, the document will have Edit Page turned on.
Click on the Edit Page Button to turn it OFF.
- The
QuadriSpace user interface is made up of a number of
Task-Organized Ribbons. Click through the ribbons to explore
the tools available. You will notice that in general the ribbons
start with page design on the left and migrate into 3D tools
further to the right.
- Now, go back
to the Home Ribbon. Now click on the Extended Properties
Button in the bottom left corner of the Project Ribbon
Group. This will display the Project Panel that allows
you to view and edit your entire project. There are 9 different User Panels that can
display to provide detailed information about the project, model,
explode steps and more.
- The user
interface is also customizable, you will see a Quick Access
Toolbar found at the top of the interface. You can add custom
commands to this by simply clicking on a ribbon button and
choosing, “Add to Quick Access Toolbar”.

Easy-to-use, familiar Microsoft Office style user interface.
