We start the series by offering a glimpse of the new V2008 user interface. Based on the modern Microsoft Office 2007 UI specifications, Pages3D and Publisher3D make it easy to find and use the commands and tools you are looking for. Common commands are easily found among the vibrant, colorful ribbon icons and advanced commands and tools are easily accessed through docking panels.  In addition, 3D tools such as exploded view, illustration creation, parts lists and model merge are integrated directly into the documentation environment and each 3D tool is focused on the creation of documentation and non-engineering users.



Focused on Product Documentation and Communication
QuadriSpace products are designed specifically for product documentation needs and V2008 is no exception. The user interface is designed to easily create documents and communications. QuadriSpace is not a simple viewer or a complicated 3D CAD package.

Topics and Illustrations Users can create illustrations complete with callouts, custom symbols, dimensions, and text using the illustration-focused ribbon aptly titled "Illustrate'. Topics and Illustrations work together to make is easy to create, manage and reuse many illustrations.
Parts Lists Multiple parts lists can be created, imported, exported, managed in the QuadriSpace V2008 environment. When a parts list is edited, the entire center view is used to easily review and edit he most complicated of parts lists. Parts lists can be inserted into a document page or publications. In addition a parts list can be used to define the callout numbers used in an illustration.
3D Tools QuadriSpace V2008 includes a wide variety of tools for working with 3D models all centralized on the "Model" ribbon. The toolset is focused on the 3D editing needs of a documentation export or technical writer, not the complexities of a 3D CAD design tool. Here you will find very easy-to-use model merge capabilities, material editing, exploded view creation, a complete assembly tree with advanced search capabilities and much more.
Document Panel Unique to QuadriSpace is a high value documentation panel. This panel is used to add textual descriptions, procedures, reference material, concepts and more to your documentation. Documentation added in this way can be published to Word, PDF, DITA XML, HTML and others.

Commands are organized into intuitive ribbons such as "Insert" (insert page objects), "Layout" (set up the overall document), "Illustrate" (create and manage 3D illustrations), "3D View" (Set up the render style and other visual properties), "Model" (Edit the model using explode, merge, material, etc) and finally a "Publish" ribbon. Each ribbon is used to perform a specific documentation activity and a general workflow progresses from ribbon to ribbon, starting with the "Home" ribbon and ending with the "Publish" ribbon.



All of the tools in QuadriSpace V2008 have been vastly improved for usability. For example, inserting a parts list is simple. Simply use the "Insert" ribbon to select parts table. Then drag the parts table onto your document page. The parts table is assiated with your 3D CAD model.
