User
Interface Expands Ease of Use
The 2009
product line will improve the ease of use by expanding on the
Microsoft Office 2007 inspired interface of the previous version.
2009 will update with a graphically pleasing Obsidian user interface
color scheme. Features include user dockable panels, configurable
tools and better support for Illustrations, procedure documents,
animations and creative document authoring. All of the functionality
is available right from the ribbon bar, no need to search through
various panels to find the tools you need to get the results you
envision.
Spell
Checker
2009 now
includes inline spell checking capabilities for text boxes, markups,
meta-data and other text editing tools in the program.
Advanced Parts List Editing
Improved
parts list editing tools make it easy to create and manage custom
parts lists. The 2009 product line includes tools for merging rows,
tools for visually working with and editing parts lists, better
performance for large model parts list and more.

Smart Template TechnologyTM
Out of the box, SP1
includes more than 50 templates that merge 3D into complete
multiple page documents. Smart Templates automatically sets
up parts lists, clickable
buttons and tables.
Smart
Template Technology also lets you quickly insert pages of
information based on parts lists, exploded views or custom
illustration sets. For example, pick a template and a parts
list the Smart Template will automatically insert each line of
the parts list as a new page or view in your document.

SP1 include revolutionary
improvements to our rendering technologies. QuadriSpace SP1
sets the new standard in 3D performance for large 3D models.
Clickable Help Tips
New help tips provide clickable
balloons that help new users get started using Document3D
immediately.

Automatically
Create Balloons
New
convenient tools allow users to automatically create balloon for all
visible parts in the current parts lists. Optionally, only selected
objects can be leverage for the creation of balloons. Balloons honor
the numbering scheme from a customizable parts list that can be
edited directly within the QuadriSpace environment, automatically
generated, or imported from an Excel file.
Hidden
Lines Dashed Render Style
New Render
style allows users to select a render style that renders hidden
lines as dashed lines so that more information about a 3D model can
be presented with clarity.
Metric Units
The user
interface can be set up to work in metric units. Pages size, object
size, rulers and other elements honor this user configurable
setting.
Zip
Publishing
Publish to a
zip file for easy sharing. Executables files can be sent zipped for
easy sharing through fire walls. Sets of images can be zipped for
easy sharing of a large number of files. Animations and PDF
documents can be zipped to reduce files size for easier and faster
transfer through email.
Large Model Support for 3D PDF Publishing
Our 2009
products have improved support for publishing large 3D models to the
popular 3D PDF files format.
New
Configurations Ribbon
The new
ribbon encapsulates the tools used to manage subsets of parts,
called configurations. With this ribbon, you can create
configurations from visible parts, all parts or the currently select
parts. You can then use tools to merge additional model into the
current configuration or suppress parts so that they are not
included with the configuration. Merge components can be
independently positioned in the scene.
Smart
Axis
New tools for
moving off-axis parts with precision. Try the new Smart Axis tool
for off-axis bolts and washers. You can also use a face tool for more
general axis setup.
Improved 3D Reduction Tools
This version
includes an improved experience when reducing model complexity to
result in smaller file sizes or improved performance. The new tools
allow you to try a reduced model before locking in the new settings.
Multiple Markup Selection
Change the
color, font, and other properties of multiple markups with a single
command by selecting multiple markups.
Advanced Page Setup
Select from
industry standard page sizes such as A4, A3, A5, Letter, Letter
Extra, Legal, etc or enter a custom page size. Also, explore new
capabilities that allow you to create individual pages in a multiple
page document with various page sizes per document.
New
Hot Keys
Easily use
hot keys in 2009 to accomplish common tasks such as CTRL-E to create
an illustration, CRTL-U to toggle Edit Page and others.
Invert Storyboard Tool
2009 includes
a very powerful new capability that makes it easy to reverse a
disassembly procedure to create an assembly procedure.
